Legal Notice & Licensing

Last updated: August 2026

1. Source Code & Licensing

Acetyl Client source code is released under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 License. We believe in source transparency, personal use, and community auditing.

GitHub Repository: You can view, audit, and contribute to the official repository on GitHub.

Permitted Uses: The license permits noncommercial use of the source code, including inspecting and studying the code and self-hosting personal instances, subject to the terms and conditions of the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 License.

Prohibited Uses: Commercial use of the software is not permitted under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 License. This includes commercial redistribution, monetizing the software, or using the software to provide paid services, subject to the license's terms and definitions.

2. Copyright, Proprietary Assets & Branding

Copyright: Copyright © 2026 Acetyl. All rights reserved except where otherwise stated. The source code is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 License; proprietary branding, trademarks, and assets are not licensed under that license unless expressly stated otherwise.

While the source code is publicly available, the PolyForm license applies to the licensed source code and does not grant permission to use Acetyl's trademarks, logos, branding, or proprietary media.

Trademarks: The Acetyl™ name, the "A!" logo, and associated Acetyl branding are claimed as trademarks of Acetyl. These marks are not licensed under the source-code license. Nothing in the source-code license grants permission to use them in a manner that suggests affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by Acetyl.

Brand Media & Assets: Custom splash-screen animations, original vector logo assets, promotional video clips, distinct brand iconography, and other original Acetyl-branded media remain proprietary unless expressly stated otherwise.

Forking & Self-Hosting: The source-code license does not grant permission to use Acetyl trademarks or proprietary branding. Forks and independent deployments should remove Acetyl logos, branding, and product identifiers and replace them with their own. Independent forks or deployments must not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by Acetyl.

3. Third-Party Trademarks & Attributions

Acetyl integrates with third-party web, backend, hosting, and infrastructure services.

Trademarks: Firebase and Google are trademarks of Google LLC; Render is a trademark of Render Services, Inc.; Cloudflare is a trademark of Cloudflare, Inc.; and GitHub is a trademark of GitHub, Inc. All third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

No Endorsement: Third-party names and logos displayed in "Built With" or attribution sections are used solely to identify technologies used by Acetyl. Their display does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement by the respective companies.
